During orientation week of college at the University of Portland, Oregon in the fall of 2012, groups of new students from the nursing and engineering schools had a mingling event together. When Hunter volunteered to go up in front of everyone to spin the wheel as part of a game, Charmaine immediately turned to her friend and said "I'm gonna marry him". Later on, through mutual and cross-pollinating friend groups and crafty pursuits, we became closer and eventually started dating just before our sophomore year. Even with life changing events, our relationship would continue to grow stronger throughout the years: we both graduated from UP with degrees, Hunter moved to Miami, Florida for graduate school while Charmaine stayed in Portland to start her nursing career. In 2018, Hunter finished his degree and got a software job in Boston, Massachusetts and asked Charmaine to move out together, where we enjoyed the New England living for 2 years. Most recently we moved to Missoula, Montana, with Hunter continuing his job remotely and Charmaine continuing her travel nurse career to help with the COVID pandemic. Throughout all the adventures we've experienced, international travels to Japan, the Philippines and Portugal (among others), wandering around museums and zoos in different cities, all the TV shows and movies we lazily watched on the couch, exploring new trails to hike or a place to camp and the never-ending new recipes to try out at home - we never seem to get bored with each other. We both feel extraordinarily lucky to have found each other, and we can't wait to say "I do".
