Charlotte and Garrett first met in their freshman English class at the University of Vermont in 2014. After realizing they lived in the same dorm and had mutual friends, Garrett asked Charlotte to be on his broomball team. They were best friends for a year before they began dating at the beginning of their sophomore year in 2015 (not long after Garrett serenaded Charlotte with a song on the ukulele). A couple apartments, trips, cats, and laughs later, the rest is history!

Garrett's 26th birthday was on January 23, 2022. He arranged for their friend Sam to text Charlotte that they should go for a birthday walk at Shelburne Farms, followed by a trip to a vineyard. Soon after they arrived at Shelburne Farms, Sam got called into work and left (Charlotte later found out this was a fake call). They proceeded to walk down to the Lake Champlain waterfront, where it began snowing. They took a selfie as Garrett waited for the photographer to get closer, and then he got down on one knee. Charlotte was so surprised, and it was one of the happiest moments of both of their lives!
