The Wedding Website of Lori Kamberian and Charlie Shatafian
Let's get down to the nitty gritty. Here is your travel guide! Flight and hotel recommendations, transportation info, and more.

Travel Note

Before You Book

Summer is the high season in Venice. Booking your airfare and stay sooner than later is always better! Using applications like Hopper can help you figure out the best time to buy flights. Keep in mind the time difference! Getting in by Thursday 6/1 is highly recommended in order to have your body fully acclimated by Friday's Welcome Aperitivo.

Flight

Booking Your Flight

The most convenient airport to fly into is Marco Polo International Airport. There is also Malpensa Airport located in Milan as well as Leonardo da Vinci – Fiumicino Airport located in Rome. Either of these airports would require you to take a train into Venice! We recommend taking a high speed train which will take you approximately 2 and a half hours to arrive in Venice. You can look up train schedules and book tickets on sites such as this one: (https://www.italiarail.com/pages/routes/milan-to-venice), or when you arrive!

Travel Note

Getting Into Venice

If you arrive into Marco Polo, you can take a water taxi directly from the airport to your stay. Another option (less expensive) is taking an ACTV Bus to Venezia and then an ACTV Water Bus (Vaporetto) to the stop closest to your stay. You can purchase tickets to the buses in the airport. This is what we did when we arrived. From there, walk straight to your stay. Pro Tip: Maps on your phone is your best friend! It gives you very specific instructions, updated bus times, and more.

Hotel

Palazzo Veneziano Official Wedding Hotel

This will be our home base! We had the opportunity to visit this hotel in person and it was great. Located in the heart of Venice, the hotel is new, spacious, and has a variety of room options. We have a small discount code available. Use code: CHUCKNLOLO at checkout. Please book directly through the hotel website. Palazzo Veneziano is a 15 minute walk from our wedding reception and all group transportation will be located nearby.

Hotel

The St. Regis Venice

Avant-garde in outlook and design, The St. Regis Venice merges striking, modern interiors with its historic provenance as the best address in the city. Flanked by the Grand Canal with views across iconic landmarks, the hotel has stood in this privileged position for over a century and a half. This hotel is a 20 minute walk from our wedding reception.

Hotel

Rosa Salva Hotel

The newly renovated hotel maintains the same spirit and care that has always characterized the Rosa Salva Family Hotel and Pastry Shop. Rosa Salva Hotel is situated on three floors with six different room types. Located near San Marco Square and an 18 minute walk from our wedding reception.

Hotel

H10 Palazzo Canova

Centrally located on the Grand Canal, and just a few metres from the famous Rialto Bridge, the H10 Palazzo Canova is a new hotel housed in a 19th-century building whose original facade is preserved. This hotel is only a 10 minute walk from our wedding reception.

House Or Rental

Airbnb or VRBO

Although we have hotel recommendations, Venice has many airbnbs/vrbo's as well. We recommend staying near the San Polo area as it's closer to our reception, closer to many attractions, and much calmer and quieter than other parts of Venice. They tend to book up quickly for Summer so reserve as soon as you can.

Travel Note

Although We Have Our Recommendations...

Although we have our recommendations, there are MANY options to choose from! Staying near San Polo is most convenient but not necessary. Do your research and stay wherever is best for you.
