Question

What Should I do Between the Ceremony and Reception?

Answer

We've got you covered! We have made a self-guided bar crawl of some of our favorite places in Madison. Start at the Overture Center for the ceremony and follow our map for as few or as many of our favorite places as you want. Click on the "Things To Do" Tab for the link or check the back of your ceremony program for more info!

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Dressy Casual - Wear something nice but not too formal! Collared shirts, sport coats, slacks, dresses, or jumpsuits are all appropriate. This is an October wedding in Wisconsin so please watch the forecast!

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP before September 6th, 2023. RSVPs will be completed online through our Zola website, please look for the "RSVP" tab at the top of this page.

Question

Can I bring a date or additional guests?

Answer

Unfortunately, due to the unique locations of both our ceremony and reception, we are extremely limited on space for additional guests. Please check the "RSVP" tab for the number of guests in your party and please RSVP with an accurate count of who can attend!

Question

How long are the hotel blocks available?

Answer

The hotel blocks will close on September 20th, 2023. If you want to take advantage of the blocks, please book before that date!

Question

Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

Answer

If you are in town the night before (Thursday the 19th), please consider joining the wedding party at Eno Vino overlooking the capitol for after-dinner cocktails. Maggie Thickens has graciously rented out the 9th floor, there will be a cash bar and great company! Feel free to swing by and say hi or stay as long as you would like. No RSVP needed, join us if you can!

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony?

Answer

Overture Center’s central location on the corner of State and Fairchild Streets ensures easy access to convenient downtown parking. Two cashier-operated parking structures adjacent to Overture offer more than 1,400 short term and all-day public parking spaces. Additional parking ramps can be found on State Street and the Capitol Square, and on-street metered parking is also available for short-term parking in the downtown area. Parking meter rates vary and are posted on each meter. Meters in lots and ramps are enforced 24 hours daily, 7 days per week. Street meters are enforced 8 AM to 6 PM, Monday through Saturday. Both the Overture Center parking ramp and the State Street Capitol ramp have elevator access and marked stalls for persons with disabilities. Metered parking spaces are also available on the street. Vehicles with disabled plates or hangtags are exempt from time limitations and may park at no charge at parking meters designated for 30 minutes or more.

Question

Is there parking for the reception?

Answer

Yes - parking is available in the Helen C. White Garage, State Street Parking Ramp, Grainger Hall Garage, and other ramps in the area. Please note that since the wedding is taking place on a Friday, University-owned ramps have limited capacity due to faculty and staff parking. Please see this website for more parking options and information - https://union.wisc.edu/visit/parking/

Question

Are you registered? Where?
