First of all, Ashley and Cj would like to thank Hinge for making this day possible. No, really. Ashley and Cj met on the new dating app, Hinge, back in 2018 after both deciding they weren't interested in going out to find someone to meet. They were both full-time college students at Texas State University; Ashley also worked and Cj had just gotten out of the military after serving for 5 years in the Marine Corps. Cj set his location to only 5 miles away from where he was living at the time, which was lucky for Ashley because she was just within that distance. Cj found Ashley on Hinge and swiped right, and vice versa for Ashley. Cj's first message to Ashley after swiping, was "Are you in the military?" which makes sense because Ashley's profile picture was of her wearing her brother's oversized USMC shirt next to her dog, Jade. Ashley went on to tell Cj that she wasn't in the military, and from there, the two talked to each other online for a few days before exchanging phone numbers. One day, Cj and Ashley were having a conversation as they always did, and then Cj hit Ashley with "I'm heading to Chick-Fil-A for lunch. Meet me there in 10 minutes, I'm buying your lunch." APPARENTLY Ashley was avoiding meeting Cj, so he went to extremes. Anxious but excited, Ashley showed up to Chick-Fil-A rocking a messy bun, no makeup, and leggings and Cj was wearing a t-shirt that said "Hawaii" on it (although he said it was a Hawaiian shirt) and khaki shorts. The two ordered chicken nugget meals and sat in a booth for hours talking. Cj wasn't sure how soon was "too soon" to ask Ashley to be his girlfriend, but when Ashley confirmed that she was a fan of dogs and hated mosquitos, it sealed the deal and they were dating. 2020: Cj and Ashley move in together. The world shut down; they decided to get their second dog, Cora. Jade hated Cora at first, but now they're best friends. 2021: Ashley and Cj both graduate from college. 02/2022: Cj got a big boy job that moved them to Washington State for two years. 03/2023: Cj proposes to Ashley on her birthday weekend! Cj tricked Ashley while out on a hike and told Ashley that Jade had gone #2 and "could she grab a bag from Jade's backpack"? When Ashley turned around, Cj was down on one knee. Ashley had no idea it was coming and her nails weren't done. Cj's surprise was a success. 10/26/2024: Cj and Ashley get MARRIED (!!!) and throw the best party they ever have with all their favorite people <3 #LetsGetThisSherrowOnTheRoad💍
