Well, before we get into the story, please remember that we're both data people. We like numbers and spreadsheets, not words. "Words are hard." If you want to know more, just ask, it's much easier that way. Charles and Kate met on Match when Charles asked Kate who her favorite super-hero was after seeing her profile where she talked about how nerdy she was. After a bit of chatting--two days to be exact--they met in person in Santa Monica for a nice beach walk and some sushi. After dinner, Charles gave Kate a fantastic light-up Spider-Man balloon--her favorite superhero--and caused her to swoon. At the end of the night, when Charles was walking Kate to her car, he stole a kiss. After a few more dates and a lot more talking, they decided to make things official.

So, one thing you need to know is that Kate LOVES Christmas. She loves decorating for it but more than anything, she loves seeing the joy that presents and the season brings to people's lives. She also loves puzzles—it's kind of an addiction. Well, Charles being Charles took advantage of that and created a custom puzzle of a photo collage of them. He strategically placed all the pieces in different presents and allowed her to open up a few presents each day and get a few more pieces. When Christmas Eve rolled around and they were at the Kalyn family home he gave her her last present and said it was the big one. Kate was a little disappointed that it turned out to be beautiful Minnie Mouse diamond earrings instead of a ring but she was still happy with them. With that, Charles said all the pieces should be there and Kate could start putting the puzzle together. As she did so, she noticed a few pieces missing. When she asked Charles, he looked a little confused and started looking around and happened to find one more box that ended up being a large square jewelry box. On the top of the jewelry box was a note that said, open the bottom drawer of the box. When she did so, there were the remaining puzzle pieces that said "Will you be the missing piece to the puzzle of my heart?" With that, Charles knelt down on one knee with a ring in his hand. (He said some stuff there too, but neither of them remember what he said.) So, in front of Charles' entire family, Kate promised to take him off their hands and keep him as her own. But because Charles is the way he is, that wasn't the last surprise. When she looked up Natalie and Erica, were standing in the hallway, with Tiffany on FaceTime so some of Kate's best friends, and bridal party, were there with her during the best moment of her entire life—at least so far. He proposed with a ring he picked out. Waiting in a second box was his Grandmother's ring, so that Kate could design a beautiful custom engagement ring.

Kate and Charles were on their way to Temecula to meet up with her brother, Chris, and Charles could meet Kate's mom for the first time. On the way down to Temecula, as was their ritual, they stopped in Fullerton to have dinner with Charles' niece, Karrin, and walk around downtown Disney. It was there, outside the front gates to Disneyland, that Charles proposed again, with the custom designed ring, where Kate said yes...again.
