How We Met

4.14.2015

Our story is a truly interesting one, we went to the same university, had the same major, frequented the same spots around campus but never met, never even saw each other. I had created a group on facebook for Jamaican fans of the TV show Game of Thrones that became really popular, over 1,000 members and as it turns out Tim had been one of those members. We hosted these viewing parties every year and one year Tim decided to attend with some mutual friends, later in our relationship, we realized we both noticed each other at that party but we both played coy. One fateful day I came across his Facebook profile and of course, I decided to message him. Since that day we have never missed a day of speaking to each other, we pretty much just clicked. We went on a Korean picnic shortly after that and formally met for the first time. It was even more clear then that we had a special connection and it was clear to me that God had put us in each other's pathways.

The Proposal

3.2.2019

We had been talking about marriage and getting married at some point for a while, but it got serious when he told me he wanted me to pick out a ring. I took some time and I picked out a few ring options, showed it to him but there was one it was clear I fell in love with. Some time passed, Christmas, New Year's Eve and Valentine's Day and he hadn't proposed, I was pretty convinced it wouldn't happen any time soon, I mean all the stereotypical times when guys propose to their ladies had passed, I should have known he wouldn't have been stereotypical, given we're both not extroverts and typically prefer things to be chill. It was the usual for us to hang out together on the weekends, we're a simple couple, great conversation, games, music and good a TV show is enough for us to have fun. So he came by to visit and hang out as usual, or so I thought, we were having one of our typical discussions, speaking about our future together and our love for each other, that's when he went down on one knee and retrieved the ring from his pocket, I was pretty shocked and grinning ear to ear when he asked me if I'd marry him and I said "YES, of course!" and we were engaged. It was our perfect moment. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in Montego Bay!
