In late March 2020, Kaitlyn and Ryan matched on the dating app Coffee Meets Bagel. Ryan asked Kaitlyn a simple question, “What is your favorite roller coaster?” and the relationship sped off from there. Since the relationship started at the beginning of the COVID-19 outbreak, the first in person date had to wait a little while, and even then it was simply getting Torchy’s Tacos delivered and watching a movie. Over the past four years, Kaitlyn and Ryan have done everything from moving to a different state, building IKEA furniture, changing jobs, getting sick, traveling to Ireland, camping, and yes, visiting many theme parks together.

On December 11th, 2023, Ryan proposed to Kaitlyn at sunset on the lanai (enclosed balcony) of their apartment. This mirrored how the relationship began, in their apartment, just the two of them, personal and memorable.
