We've gone to the same school since Cecilia was in the 4th grade and Brian was in the 3rd grade. Given our astronomical age gap, we didn't really know each other back then, but it's funny to think back on us playing on the same playground, eating in the same cafeteria, and singing the same Highland Terrace Orcas songs at school assemblies. From there, we attended the same middle school and high school, knowing of each other but never interacting significantly. I guess you could say we admired one another from afar. In college, our paths crossed via the University of Washington greek system where we landed in houses across the street from one another. We were friends before Cecilia mustered the courage to ask him on a sorority date function, coined a "grab-a-date." Brian wore an orange jumpsuit and held her hand, and the rest is history. By the time we get married, it will have been 13 wonderful years that we've been together. In this time, we have had the privilege of celebrating a collective 26 birthdays together and supporting each other through 4 educational degrees. We thrived through 3 years of long distance between San Francisco and Seattle, and will be ringing in our 4th anniversary of living in the Big Apple shortly after our wedding. We are so incredibly grateful to have found each other and to be celebrating our love with you.
