We met in August 2017 in law school at the University of Virginia, where we were assigned to the same “section” and took all of our first semester classes together. At the end of the first week of class, Princelee gave Courtney a ride home from a social event. During that car ride, Courtney already began seeing glimpses into what she would come to love and admire about Princelee — he seemed both measured and honest; open to new friendship, but not overly eager to please others; inquisitive, but not intrusive. Princelee immediately noticed Courtney’s kindness, thoughtful nature, and warm personality, and he felt like Courtney was someone he could trust. Over the course of law school — and many more car rides, classes, and conversations — Princelee and Courtney developed a friendship and attraction towards each other. Towards the end of their final year of law school, on February 9, 2020, Princelee and Courtney began dating. On July 2, 2023, Princelee proposed to Courtney, who enthusiastically said yes. In addition to his loving hugs and ability to make her laugh, Courtney’s favorite thing about Princelee is his integrity. Princelee’s favorite thing about Courtney is her playful nature. We are thankful to God for bringing us together and are excited to begin our married lives together. Thank you to all our family and friends who have supported and prayed for us. We look forward to celebrating with you on July 6, 2024.
