It's no secret that Brian and Amber met on a dating site. I mean it is the 20th century, right!? Although they both were not looking for something serious, they hit off quickly. Within a few days of chatting through text, Brian rescued Amber from a plumbing emergency... and then again after she had almost totaled her car... and then again when she locked herself out of her house. Yes, this was all in the first week! Yikes! Brian, being the understanding, patient, and caring guy that he is, put aside his own stresses to help Amber get through that crazy first week. That week was one of the many reasons Amber fell so quickly for Brian.
When Brian and Amber met, Brian had his own load of owning a business and taking care of his beloved late mother, Carol. His compassion and respect for his mother and other people was a characteristic that Amber admired so much about him. Brian made Carol a priority in his life and was not shy about. Three months into the relationship Brian unfortunately lost his mother. It being one of the worst days of his life, Amber supported him. She never left his side. Brian and Amber visit Carol's grave often and make sure she is still a part of their lives. Brian went to her grave a few days prior to the proposal and told Carol that Amber was "the one". Her opinion was always the most important to Brian. He knew she approved as she got to see how happy he was with Amber before she passed.
Brian surprised Amber with a spontaneous proposal at Atlantic City Beach with both Gracie and Brayden there. Brian lured Amber down to the ocean side after dinner with the kids. He got down on one knee behind her as she was enjoying the view of the ocean. She was shocked. They talked about marriage, but Brian made her believe it was long down the road. Although she wanted to marry Brian her kids were her first concern. Brian not only asked Amber's parents for permission, he asked her kids. Which made it all that much more perfect. They ALL said YES of course!
