We love going on these river cruises when we visit Paris! There are tons of companies to choose from -- this one allows you to buy a ticket valid for a full year - so if the weather is bad or you are just tired from exploring, you are not tied down to a specific date/time. We will be stopping in Paris the weekend before the wedding and will definitely be popping a bottle of sparkling wine while on a night cruise of the city! We hope to see you there!
Greg and I did this in November and loved it!!! Highly recommended for Foodies! It is a little pricey, but definitely worth the experience -- Multi-course tasting, bus tour through Paris highlights and amazing wine!
If you are stoping by Paris take a look at the tourism website! It includes information regarding all of the local museums, how to use the transit system, general tips for travel in the city, and a specific section called "Paris for Free"
The city of Dijon has created 3 self guided loops of the city with the help of some owls! This 22-stage walking trail is perfect for those who want to tour around the city on their own time and learn about the history of Dijon. The whole trail can be covered on foot in about one hour. You can purchase a map of the trail at the Tourism Office or download the app!
We went here during the annual wine auction and had a lot of fun! It is a hospital (founded in the Middle Ages) turned museum and winery. Tickets are €7.50
On July 7th the Women's World Cup Final will be taking place in Lyon!
For those going to Paris before the wedding: Greg and I will be arriving in Paris on Thursday, July 4th. We have booked at hotel by Chatelet metro station (very convenient with trains/subways to Gare de Lyon Train Station and CDG Airport). On Thursday, July 4th, we will be climbing the steps of the Eiffel Tower and doing a nightly cruise of the river Seine. If anyone wants to join us for the river cruise, Bateaux Mouches, let Catie know, we can try to get a group ticket price. On Friday, July 5th, we will be relaxing at Versailles! I recommend booking tickets in advance to avoid long lines in the heat! On Saturday, July 6th, we will be doing a morning tour of the Catacombs (Catie's favorite!!) followed by wandering around the Latin Quarter and Notre Dame. That evening, we will be taking a train to Lyon.
