**UPDATE** Unfortunately, our wedding this summer has again been cancelled due to the pandemic. Given the circumstances, we will instead be getting married this fall in a very small family ceremony. We are hoping to have another larger party once it is safe to do so, and we look forward to seeing you all then! Cathy and Peter met at UCLA in July of 2015: Cathy had just graduated with her undergraduate degree and Peter had just finished his first year of graduate school. Their first date was on July 3rd, helpfully facilitated by the Friday off from work before the July 4th holiday. During their first date, Cathy won Peter's interest by talking about NPR, and Peter won Cathy's by expressing concern over the gender representation in modern sitcoms. In a bold and confident move, Cathy suggested an outdoor production of Romeo and Juliet for their 2nd date. Traffic was terrible and they missed the first act, but those several hours stuck on Wilshire Blvd provided a perfect time to find out how much they have in common. Cathy passed important tests, including having the correct answers to "do you like Harry Potter?" (yes) and "do you think space is cool?" (definitely cool). Peter passed similarly important tests, such as "Do you enjoy musical theatre?" (indeed) and "Would you ever own a dog?" (sure). Like a scene from a romantic comedy, Cathy and Peter had their first kiss under the stars after Romeo and Juliet. Their relationship became medium distance after dating for two years when Cathy moved an hour away to get a Masters of Public Health. After Cathy graduated, they moved into a small apartment near UCLA together in 2018. They got engaged nearly a year later in May 2019 on Ocracoke Island in the Outer Banks, and have been busily planning this wedding ever since. They are so excited to take this next step in their relationship and are thrilled to share the moment with you!
