We would love for any guests who are visiting from out of town to experience some of the things we love about living in the Ann Arbor area while you're here! Below are some of our recommendations. **Please keep in mind that there is a football game at Noon in Ann Arbor on Saturday, September 14. While gamedays in Ann Arbor are very exciting, there often is increased traffic and difficulty getting into downtown restaurants. Great alternatives for Saturday that are within a short driving distance from Livonia include the charming downtown's of Plymouth or Northville.

Matthaei Botanical Gardens

Beautiful indoor botanical where Mason and Catherine got engaged + walking trails on the property.

Nichols Arboretum (The Arb)

1600 Washington Heights, Ann Arbor, MI 48104

Another one of our favorite places to walk. Be sure to take a break on the steps by the river. There are many different entrances to the Arb, but metered parking is available near the location listed here.

Walk the University of Michigan Campus

500 S State St., Ann Arbor, MI

We highly recommend taking a few hours to explore the University of Michigan Campus! Some must-see's include The Diag, Nickles Arcade, the Law Quad, and the Union.

Detroit RiverWalk

1340 Atwater St, Detroit, MI 48207

If you're venturing into Detroit, visiting the RiverWalk is a must! This is a 3.5-mile paved path along the Detroit River with views of Canada, pavilions, green spaces, and a carousel. The address provided will take you to a free parking lot along the RiverWalk.

Eastern Market

Eastern Market is a large farmers market held every Saturday morning in Detroit. Here you can find beautiful produce, plants, street food, and more. The location provided will direct you to a convenient parking lot. We highly recommend stopping to walk around if you're going towards Detroit!

Detroit Institute of Arts

If you're looking for some fun things to do in downtown Detroit (only 40 minutes away), the DIA is great!

Henry Ford Museum

A fun stop if you're looking for an activity near Detroit. You could spend almost a whole day exploring the Henry Ford Museum and learning about the history of the Motor City.

Mani Osteria and Bar

A great restaurant in downtown for Italian food! One of our favorites for a nice meal.

Cardamom Restaurant

THE BEST Indian food. We recommend walking through the neighboring locally owned book store while you wait for your table.

Blue Nile Ethiopian Restaurant

If you've never had Ethiopian, we highly recommend giving Blue Nile a try! Meals are served family style with a unique dining experience.

Frita Batidos Ann Arbor

Delicious Cuban inspired street food! One of the best spots in Ann Arbor for a casual bite.

York Food and Drink

York is one of our favorite places for a coffee, snack, or casual drink. Check their Instagram or Website to see what food trucks are available.

Bill's Beer Garden

218 South Ashley Street, Ann Arbor, MI 48104

A local favorite for drinks and hanging out with friends. Bill's does not serve food, but you can bring in takeout from any downtown restaurant! We recommend ordering online from Fritas and bringing it over:)

HOMES Brewery

Homes Brewery is one of our favorites! A great spot for locally brewed beer and Asian fusion food.
