See the bar that started it all. This is where Jayke and Cate first meet ten years ago! Back then King James and The Special Men would play every Monday nigh aka Red Beans and Rice night. On one of those fateful nights Cate and Jayke struck up a conversation at the bar while waiting for the dates they were supposed to be on. The rest is history.
Around the corner from our first house together, the food and drinks are worth the visit but it’s really the backyard that’s the best. Pay to use the pool, hot tub, and back bar. It’s totally worth it and a very unique Bywater, New Orleans experience.
This was our go to local coffee shop when living there. Haven't been to their new location but we are sure the coffee is still amazing.
The Rusty Rainbow is a cool bridge that goes over the train tracks at Piety Street and leads to Crescent Park. You can walk along the river from here into the Quarter if you want and it’s definitely a pretty walk along the River. If you’re looking for a great slice of pizza, check out Pizza Delicious before you cross the bridge (SO GOOD)!
The Music Box Village is a place where play, imagination, experimentation, collaboration, community and hard work come together as a whimsical village of artist-made interactive “musical houses.” A truly unique and “only in NOLA” type of experience!
No visit to New Orleans would be complete without a visit to the hauntingly beautiful cemeteries. St. Louis Cemetery No. 1 is considered one of the most haunted cemeteries in America. This cemetery takes up an entire city block with over 700 tombs and over 100,000 graves, dating back to 1789. Not to mention, Easy Rider was filmed here, and Cloak & Dagger!
Established in 2002, Bacchanal is the quintessential corner wine shop that hosts the biggest backyard party. An all-encompassing, unique approach to food, wine and live music experience. Highly recommend spending an evening drinking, eating, and dancing here!
This is an awesome secret location restaurant. You'll be looking for an N7 sign on the gate of a 7 foot fence that definitely doesn't feel like it leads to a restaurant. It'll feel weird but just go in and you'll be transported to a different world in this backyard can to table restaurant.
