Amber and Cat both downloaded Tinder "one last time" during early 2020. On March 12, 2020, they matched. They instantly connected about their jobs and interests, and wanted to go on a date the following weekend. But the very next day, the world changed. Their first date plans had to be postponed indefinitely, but they kept in touch. Texts turned into hours-long FaceTimes, when they talked about everything under the sun - movies, memes, their families, and their hopes for the future. Along the way, Cat's apartment building shut down all the shared facilities, including the laundry room. Cat was venting about how frustrating and weird this was, when Amber offered to pick up and do Cat's laundry for her. Cat said, “Wait...are you serious?” Amber was. For two months, Amber would pick up Cat’s laundry after getting off work, washed and dried it, folded it and brought it back to her the next day. This was all before we could even go on a real date! Finally in May 2020, we started going on outdoor, socially-distanced dates. The rest was history.
