They always say that the best things come to those who wait, and when you're least expecting it. That is exactly how our story went :) Never had either of us experienced something quite like this, or had fallen so deeply in love as quickly as we did. He chose her, and she chose him. A few days after a super slick Facebook message (we will let you guess who messaged who first), all they had to do was have that one look, that one conversation, 2 chocolate milkshakes, and a kiss goodnight... and the rest was history. She found her person, the man who would complete her family with her children, a man who would love them like his own. He found his person, the woman who would give him the family that he always wanted, who would love him unconditionally. The each found their best friend. Love isnt always easy, like sunshine, rainbows and glitterpops... but it is so worth it ♡
June 21, 2019... There is nothing specific about this day or time. David always said that if and when he ever proposed to a woman, that he would not do it during any specific holiday or around any certain time. He had always said it would be completely random and unexpected. Cassie seems to think, still, that she knows everything and has a pretty good gauge on those types of things 😏 Well we are here to tell you that Cassie was wrong and David was right🤷🏻♀️ 2 weeks prior to this date, David purchased the ring after asking permission from Michael and Jayden. The boys knew about it and never spoke a word. Friday night , June 21, 2018 around 9pm, there was the usual NEED for SUGAR. On the way to cold stone, for chocolate milkshakes, David pulled off on the side of the road where they had their 1st kiss, reenacted the whole thing, and got down on one knee. After Cassies super giant moment of shock, and David's increasing curiosity as to whether or not she was even going to answer, she said...... Yesssss, followed by a lot of "OMG. NU UH. FOR REAL?! and yays 🥳💍
Finally, the prayer was answered. David, Cassie, Michael, and Jayden. It just, works.
Both of us were so close with our Dad's, Kevin Simpson & Dale Stiffler. While they will not be with us on our Wedding Day, we know they're watching. We like to believe that not only have we made them proud, but that David is the man that Kevin wanted his daughter to find, and that Cassie was the woman that Dale wanted his son to find. While they both lost their battles with cancer and went to be with God far too soon, they will still in someway witness this wedding day, together. <3
