‘Twas the night of October 30th, the spookiest of Halloween nights, where Cory and Katie would meet for the first time at the once beloved Satellite music venue in Silver Lake, LA. “I know this super sick tight band playing tonight, we should go!” Exclaimed Alexis Von K, one of Katie’s dearest friends and current bad influence. “I don’t know Lexi Pants aren’t you as hungover as I am?? I’d rather eat pizza on your incredibly comfortable couch that you should absolutely never get rid of no matter the circumstance!” (Alexis will inevitably get rid of said beautiful couch, this unfortunate decision will cost her friends and respect in the near future). “Yeah I get it Muffin Butt, however, the band members are dope hot, especially the drummer and the Asian one! You’ll love him!” Alexis exclaims. “Aight f*ck it!” Katie responds as they both scramble to find the perfect non Halloween outfits for the Halloween show that clearly states “Halloween Costumes Required for Entry”. The Satellite green room leaves much to be desired, as Cory and his dear friend and drummer of the band, Micah, get ready for the show. “Ya gotta keep ‘em guessing dude, it’s the best way to disarm the ladies..” Cory explains as he puts on some lipstick, the final touch to his hodgepodge desperation of a costume: raccoon schoolgirl. Surely a flawless plan to attract a mate. “You’re so smart dude, and always on point! A true Genius! Go Hawks!” Micah’s admiration for Cory’s strategy is palpable. As fate would have it, his plan worked. As soon as Katie saw Cory take the stage, she knew he was the one. Maybe it was the short skirt and stockings that hide the only hair he can grow on his legs (just the shins), or the way he flipped his hair around behind his keyboard, or perhaps it was the weird choice to also have raccoon ears “compliment” his costume. Nonetheless, something drew her to him as magic and music filled the air and she said to herself.. “THAT'S THE ONE.” And the rest is history.
