August 2008- We first met at Liquid Joes during a Royal Bliss concert. Thanks to a mutual friend and by-chance run in, an introduction was made. A spark was lit, but circumstances did not allow for a relationship. March 2009- During separate trips to NASCAR in Las Vegas, we met for the 2nd time. The spark was still there and stronger, but again, due to circumstances we were unable to connect. 2 weeks later, a connection was made through MySpace, and our 1st date was scheduled. April 8, 2009- We met at Iggy’s for dinner and drinks. We enjoyed several hours of conversation, sarcastic jokes, and had an instant connection. Leaving the restaurant it began to rain as we walked to my car. We shared our 1st of many kisses, and our relationship began. December 2010- Dan accepted a position with Discover Card in Delaware. After New Years 2011 and a crazy going away party, we drove across the country for a new adventure. While extremely challenging, it was an exciting 15 months. Cassidy commuted back and forth for work, while Dan visited Utah when vacation time permitted. We rented a cute red brick, cape cod style house in Wilmington. We spent holidays together, drove up and down the east coast, we’re impacted by hurricanes, and welcomed family and friends to visit. May 2012- Dan accepted a new position with Discover Card back in Utah. We packed up our stuff and with the help of 5 of our guy friends, drove back across the US to return home. Summer 2012- After returning, we began our home search. We found one that suited us in Salt Lake, and purchased our first house together. January 2013- We were ready to expand our family, not with a human baby, but a fur-baby! We joined Rescue Rovers and immediately were connect with an 8-week-old Red Healer. He was a handsome, scared, abused puppy who needed a loving home. Since the moment we laid eyes on him, he is and continues to be our boy! He is the most loyal, protective, stubborn companion you will ever meet! Spring 2014- After several sleepovers with friends in their camp trailer and a few nights in a tent, we decided it was time to expand our camping portfolio! We purchased our first Toy Hauler, a cute WildThing. This Toy Hauler contributed to our love of camping and riding that we have today! July 2015- After a few years and an awful back issue, we needed to look for a home with less stairs and main level living. We put our home on the market, found and moved into our dream home all within a few months! Spring 2016- Attending the RV show, we fell in love with a brand new Toy Hauler design. After countless miles, camping trips, and memories in our WildThing, we purchased our beautiful Stryker. We love this trailer and continue to create new memories with it and friends. May 2018- While we knew Tiggs should be an only child, Rescue Rovers had connected us with another Healer. This time a girl and she was a Blue one! Elf, her name given by the rescue because she was so little, came to Utah from New Mexico. She was 9 months old, deaf, emaciated at 18 pounds, and extremely sketchy. She lived on the streets, eluding capture for several months. With much protest from Tiggs, we adopted Elf and changed her name to Ellie. She now weighs 65 pounds and lives her best life, with people who love and adore her spunky, sassy attitude and a brother who takes care of her! September 2018- Around midnight on Friday, September 28th, Dan had a scare with chest pain. We treated him for heartburn, but that did not do the trick. We called the teledoc and we’re told to go to the emergency room immediately. At the hospital, it was discovered that Dan was in the middle of a heart attack and several hours later, advised he would be having a 5-artery bypass on Monday. This time was extremely scary as well as enlightening to the both of us. After the surgery, we began to discuss our future and getting married.

In 2021, our cousins Blake and Brittany purchased a beautiful catamaran and we had the opportunity for a family vacation on the maiden voyage before going into charter. Her name is Location and she is a beautiful 5.4 Bali sailing vessel. During our week on the boat, we fell in love with sailing and decided that was how we wanted to celebrate Cassidy’s 40th birthday the following June. We texted our close group of friends, gauging who would want to join us for the birthday celebration vacation and everyone was in! We started planning, purchased flights, and started preparing for our vacation. A few weeks later, riding in our side by side, we decided that we were going to plan a wedding during our 11-day trip. We wanted to keep it a secret from our friends and have it be a complete, unexpected surprise! We asked my cousins if they would help us with our wedding plans and if Blake, who is ordained and a Captain, would do the honors of marrying us. To get everyone dressed up and on time, we told them that on Sunday (June 25), the day of the wedding, we would attend a special Captains dinner at the Staniel Cay Yacht Club, and take a group photo before, so to wear nice vacation attire. June 25, 2023- As our friends gathered on the front of the boat for the "group picture", our family gathered at Ken and Tammy's home to participate over Facetime. At 1900ET, Boyce Avenue’s version of "Can’t Help Falling in Love" began to play over the speakers. A few of our friends began to wonder if Dan was going to propose. Moments later, Cassidy walked out in a stunning wedding dress and our dream wedding came to fruition! An outcry of screams, ugly crying and cheers filled the deck of the boat. The setting and decorations were magical, including fresh wildflowers, twinkle lights, banner, and sailing flag, all pulled together by Blake, Britt, Nik, and Lily. The wedding invocation and pronouncement, compiled and performed by Blake, were beautiful, funny and accurate. We celebrated with dinner, dancing, and singing at the Yacht Club, followed by a round of toasts and a cupcake smash back on the boat! After 14 years of compromise, cultivation, and patience, we officially “Tied The Knot”. We are excited to begin this next chapter as a married couple.
