Tis' The Season

A fall chill was in the air as Casey rang the doorbell to the Friendsgiving party for the Calvary Chapel Young Professionals group. Having just moved into the area, she only knew a couple people as she weaseled her way in and out of the crew trying to find her new friend Ashley. As she turned the corner, she breathed a sigh of relief! "Ashley!" she said as she waved, and thankfully found her way to one of the only people she recognized. Slowly, as the night wore on, Casey became braver. She started mingling more, eating more, introducing herself to more of these SLO locals. Eventually, she was introduced to someone she never expected. He was tall, very tall, I mean....like very very tall. His dark skin and dark beard gave him a mysterious vibe. Like some dark and handsome movie star who you can't tell if they're the good guy or bad guy. He spoke softly, and she made more than one nervous giggle as she took in this good looking stranger. Loudly, abrasively, and with a little bit of theatre, she started telling him she was a Pilates instructor newly settled into the area. She asked what he did. "Massage therapy" he replied. "BINGO!!" she thought! Conversation fuel! As the night wore on, the two could not stop talking. The conversation was easy, the night was was young, and the two star crossed lovers felt the connection instantly! Fast forward 7 years to a wonderful Christmas Eve where Clay got down on one knee, in the freezing snow, surrounded by the beauty of Lake Tahoe. With lots of giggles, "Oh my gosh," and joy, Casey said, "YES!" and thanked the Lord in Heaven for that wonderful fall night where they first met.
