While walking my new dog one day, I saw a couple of other dogs playing in my apartment complex's dog park. After making my way into the park and trying to wrangle a golden retriever, I noticed a beautiful girl with a black golden doodle. After a brief conversation, I noticed how short she was being with me. So thinking she had a boyfriend already, I left. A few weeks later, a little notification pops up on my Facebook and I see a face I recognize. "There's no way this could be dog park girl!" I said to myself, but I wanted to pursue this wonderfully beautiful woman. After a few Facebook messages, the first date was in place and the rest was history after that! Well, until I found out her side of the story....
At the end of the school year in May of 2021, I was having a conversation with a coworker regarding my love life (which was nonexistent at the time). She mentioned that I should meet this guy named "Christian" from her church and told me a few things about him. I blew it off because when does that actually ever happen in real life? Fast forward 2 months later: I was dog sitting my nephew dog (Que) for a week during the summer. He's a very social dog, so I decided to take him out to my apartment complex's dog park with his favorite frisbee toy. Upon entering the dog park, a massive golden retriever attacked me because he wanted Que's frisbee toy. There was a guy behind me that had a bacon scented ball to distract the golden retriever from attacking me. I was very thankful. We started talking in the dog park, and he said his name was "Christian". We had a very short conversation before he left. The few things that he mentioned about himself were the few things that my coworker had told me previously. I was shook. At the beginning of the school year in August of 2021, I told my coworker that I thought I met the guy she was telling me about over summer break. She pulled up a picture of him, and I confirmed that it was the same guy. She forced me to add him on Facebook. A few days later, he messaged me and asked me on a first date to coffee. A coffee date turned into a dinner date. A second date turned into a third. And here we are now :) I am so very grateful that God blessed me with such an incredible man. I am beyond excited for our future together!
Christian planned a romantic date to Finley Farms in Ozark, Missouri. We went to coffee at The Workshop and ate lunch at The Ozark Mill restaurant. After lunch, we took a walk on the bridge. While overlooking the Finley River, Christian got down on one knee and proposed! Afterwards, Christian planned a surprise engagement party with our family and closest friends. It was a day that we will remember forever!
