They say timing is everything and that is definitely true in our case. Both our families moved to the Watkins Glen area in the late 80s and we attended the same elementary school. From there, it is a series of missed connections until finally in October 2021 in North Carolina, love blossomed. After high school (in Watkins Glen and Corning), we both went to college in Buffalo, NY but never once crossed paths that we know of. We both moved to North Carolina after college (OBX and Raleigh!) and attended Shakori Hills Grassroots Festival in Pittsboro, NC for many years. When Chris moved back to Watkins Glen, Hallie would tell him he needed to connect with Casey at Shakori and we did cross paths briefly a few times over the years. Chris would regularly see Rick and Cindy at Two Goats and Solera, and months before we “met” Cindy mentioned to Hallie, “What about Chris for Casey?”. Sparks didn’t fly until a rainy October evening when Casey made the first move after encouragement from the Shakori faeries. As luck would have it, Casey was already planning to move back to the Finger Lakes at that time. And the rest, as they say, is history.
