One of the most cherished was a weekend spent on Osea Island, where they joined friends in a festive celebration. However, the ocean between them proved too vast for love to flourish during that season of their lives; And they parted ways. Many years later, Régis reached out to reconnect. Carrie was living nearby in Nice, France, and their love story picked up where it had left off. It wasn’t long before Régis planned a grand gesture: after an eight-day Camino walk to Santiago de Compostela, Spain, he asked Val for permission to marry Carrie in that sacred and meaningful place.
