What are my travel options to Charlottesville?
Answer
There are plenty! In order of proximity: - Fly into Charlottesville's regional airport (CHO): ~20 min drive from downtown Charlottesville. For those of you coming from Chicago, United has direct flights from O'Hare to CHO. - Fly into Richmond, VA (RIC): ~1.5 hour drive or Uber. Recommend scheduling an Uber ahead of time if you go this route. - Fly into Washington D.C.: ~2.5 hour drive - Amtrak from Washington, D.C. to Charlottesville: ~2.5 hour train ride

Where should I stay?
Answer
There are lots of options for lodging in Charlottesville. We have room blocks at three hotels in downtown Charlottesville - check out the Travel page for more info on how to book. There are also many Airbnb's in the area if you're traveling with family or want to stay with a group.

Is transportation provided to your events?
Answer
Not to the welcome party, however Common House is located just down the street from the Omni and within walking distance from the Residence Inn and The Draftsman hotels. On the day of the wedding, transportation will be provided to and from Pippin Hill.

What are the bus times for transportation to and from the wedding?
Answer
Busses will pick up from the Omni hotel at 3:25pm for transportation to Pippin Hill. Busses will depart Pippin Hill and drop off at the Omni hotel at: - 9pm - 9:30pm - 10:30pm (last bus)

What if I want to drive to your events?
Answer
For welcome drinks street parking is available on a first-come-first served basis near the venue, however it can be hard to come by. There are paid lots within two blocks of the venue as well. For the wedding, our venue is a 20 minute drive from downtown Charlottesville and has a parking lot that is available to all wedding guests.

What should I wear?
Answer
For the welcome party, attire is casual. Nothing super formal, come in whatever you're comfortable in. For the wedding, attire is black-tie optional. Tuxedos and gowns are welcome, and so are suits and cocktail dresses. If weather allows, our ceremony will be outside on the lawn. We'd recommend block heels over stilettos for walking on the grass, and bringing a wrap or jacket to keep you warm. For those in the military, black tie or dinner dress with squadron colors is invited. You read that correctly... black OR dinner dress. No tricks here, taster's choice! This might be your one chance to squeeze into that Hong Kong tux you bought six port calls ago and look fly as hell! Let's go lads and lasses, dress to the nines!

Although we love hanging with the little ones, both the welcome party and wedding are adult-only events. Please reach out to us if you need any information on babysitters in the Charlottesville area!
