The Wedding Celebration

We are married! And for this we are exceedingly grateful. Our wedding day was very special and you can find some pictures of the big day on the photos tab of the website. I think our smiles show our gratitude to our Lord, family, and friends for making our wedding possible. In light of the ongoing nature of the pandemic, it appears best to postpone any gathering that might put loved ones at risk. We are therefore putting our plans on hold, and will be in touch as things settle. We love you all and want you well! Our goal is simple; we want to celebrate with ALL of you, our family and friends, when it is safe again!

Our Meeting in the Loveliest Village on the Plains

Pig and I met on the Auburn University Concourse during the Spring of 2015 (my freshman year; Pig's sophomore year). Pig, with the help of his friend Tommy, had recently brought the nonprofit organization "Filter of Hope" to Auburn's campus. This organization is gospel-centered, and brings clean water to nations in need of it. I ran across Pig as he was advertising for the upcoming trip. He eagerly wanted me to drink the dirty water in order to show me that the filter was effective. Of course I said, "Ew....no." The following Spring (2016), I went on my first mission trip to Lubin, Haiti, which was organized through Auburn's "Filter of Hope" organization. This was the organization that Pig had represented one year earlier. The trip was a wonderful blessing to me. Ironically, though, I proceeded to drink the dirty water on countless occasions to show the Haitian people that, indeed, the filter "did it's job"!! I'm certain that God has a sense of humor!! During the fall that year, we were able to get to know one another more through the organization we both loved, Campus Crusades (CRU). He then asked me to a "game-day-date," and from there things progressed! We went on countless walks, date parties, and spent many lazy hours binge-watching "Parks and Recreation". After graduation from Auburn in 2017, Pig spent a year in Rwanda, helping at a local church/community there. It was a long year, but the Lord sustained us, even allowing me to travel there for a visit! In March of this year, Pig surprised me at the beach, asking me to marry him (I said yes ! ). We are so excited, and honestly thrilled to celebrate this upcoming season with you all! Thank you all for sharing in this journey with us!
