Sister Bay Bowl
It is an old school supper club that has a few lanes of bowling (think Southport Lanes but they have automatic pin set up). You score your own game. Go there for perch on Fridays, or any day, but Friday is fish fry.
JJ's La Puerta of Sister Bay
It’s a combo supper club/Mexican restaurant - very weird, we know, but the owner combined two restaurants into one. Everything is good there. They have outdoor seating in the back near Yacht Works marina.
Al Johnson’s Swedish Restaurant & Butik
Swedish breakfast spot. They have a grass roof with goats grazing up there. Very famous place most people ask about when you say you went to Door County.
Stabbur Beer Garden at Al Johnson's
Beer garden next to Al Johnson’s that serves some food. Food is good, but menu is limited. They have a grassy area and outdoor bar - definitively recommended.
Boathouse On The Bay
Incredible food and views! Famous for their lobster rolls. Awesome Sunday brunch!
Husby's Food & Spirits
Fun outdoor bar with live music. Large, casual menu.
Door County Creamery
Great to pick up sandwiches and wine for lunch if you have a picnic. Also sells ice cream.
Analog Ice Cream and Coffee
Great option for coffee and unique ice cream across the street from the Dorr hotel.
Skip Stone Coffee Roasters
Easy option for coffee in the morning.
Sister Bay Beach
There is a great beach right in downtown Sister Bay, that includes a sand beach and swim platform. Right next to a park with swings and slides for children. You can pick up takeout from Grassies, Wild Tomato, or Creamery and take it to the park!
Wilson's Restaurant & Ice Cream Parlor
Super cute old fashioned ice cream shop. You can also get lunch here. This is down in Ephraim (one town away).
Hügel Haus
German restaurant with great beer selection and the best chicken schnitzel sandwiches we've ever had. Located in Ellison Bay, one town north.
Peninsula State Park
Great for hiking or biking. You can rent bikes outside of the park in Fish Creek (two towns south). They have a sightseeing tower that you can climb and an old lighthouse.
Newport State Park
Also great for hiking and biking. This is several towns north, but is usually far less crowded than Peninsula State Park.
Rowleys Bay
This is a calm bay that rents kayaks. You can also kayak up the mink river which is very peaceful and not too rough.
One Barrel Brewing Company Door County
This is our favorite brewery and one of our top recommendations! They have a great outdoor area with fire pits and lawn games for children. They serve personal pizzas from the same operators as Wild Tomato. They also sell very good beer, in very cute cans, you can take home!
Stone's Throw Winery
This is the only winery with non-sweet wine. Many of the other wineries serve sweet cherry wine. If you’re down there go to Chives for dinner (otherwise Chives is just too far). Could be combined with a visit to Door County Brewing.
Door County Brewing Co. Taproom and Music Hall
Fun outdoor area with good beer. They also offer a limited selection of small plates
Fish Creek
There are a lot of stores in Fish Creek. Cute area to walk around. The Confectionary Candy Store is amazing (but very expensive!). Good option if it is raining.
Gills Rock
Gills Rock Maritime Museum is a great option if it is raining. Ask one of the staff to walk you around.
Skyway Drive-In Theatre
A drive in movie theater that shows double features. Get there a little early because they fill up.
Washington Island
You can take a ferry over to Washington Island and rent bikes/mopeds to explore. If you’re short on time, you may want to save it for another trip. The personal ferry is the Clipper and runs out of Gills Rock. You can bring bikes onto the ferry. The car ferry runs out of Northport.
