-Shuttles will run from the Draftsman Hotel, the Hampton Inn, the Residence Inn, and Farmington Country Club. -There is some parking for guests at the venue itself but no cars are allowed to stay at the venue overnight. If you would like to drive yourself to the venue, the entrance to Gallison Hall is in the back of the property on Finders Way off of Old Garth Road. The entrance off of Farmington Drive will NOT be accessible for guests. -There is a very narrow one-way drive to access our venue so Uber/Lyfts are not recommended. If you are not staying at one of our hotels and do not want to drive yourself, we recommend taking an Uber/Lyft to the Draftsman Hotel to get on shuttles to our wedding. -Shuttles will return guests to the hotels as well as to the after party after the reception concludes
Weather permitting, there will be several aspects of our wedding that will take place outside. If you are planning on wearing heels, we recommend wearing a block heel. The weather in Charlottesville in April will likely be warm during the day but chillier in the evening.
Charlottesville is about a 2 hour drive from Washington, D.C and about a 1 hour 15 minute drive from Richmond, VA. There is a small, regional airport in Charlottesville that does have direct flights from a number of major cities including DC, NY, and Chicago. Amtrak runs to/from Charlottesville up the East Coast (DC, NY, Boston, etc.) and the station is located in the heart of Charlottesville.
We have arranged room blocks at the Draftsman, Residence Inn, and Hampton Inn. There are also several other hotels in the area including the Graduate Hotel, Boars Head Inn, and Courtyard by Marriott. Charlottesville also has several Airbnb and Vrbo offerings.
