In January of 2013, in a quaint little strip mall in Sarasota, Florida, history would be made. Nearly 7 years ago Carol and I walked separately into the Polo Grill, unaware that our lives would be changed forever. From that chance meeting, to our first date a week later, to a relationship-sealing rendezvous in Bogota a month beyond that, the details of the unfolding of this relationship vary depending on who you ask, and may never be truly clear. But one thing is for certain. The union that is David and Carol was destined to be. When Carol and I first met, I was running a digital marketing company and Carol was in charge of new markets for a global LED technology company. I remember how put together Carol was on our first date. Clean, fancy sports car. Designer glasses and bags. Dressed to the nines. To be honest, it was a little intimidating. And then it got worse. Over dinner, Carol shared a vision she had in her childhood of being on stage, with a baby in her arms and another child and her husband by her side. She knew then, as a little girl, that some day she and her husband would be speaking in front of thousands of people helping to change their lives and making a radical impact in the world. When she shared this beautiful vision with me, I was certain of one thing. Carol was on a date with the wrong guy. Now 7 years later, Carol’s vision has unfolded to be true, and our union is the next step in bringing that vision into full fruition.

Neither of us have ever felt so completed by another. All of our shortcomings, our fears, our opportunities for growth, our dreams – are diminished or enhanced by the qualities of the other. Some people say that growing a business with your partner can be a real strain. We believe it’s the greatest blessing one could ever hope for. To be able to feel supported by each other, in every aspect of our lives, and to know that the person who loves us most has our back, and is capable of supporting it, creates a level of comfort and ease and joy that is rarely experienced in one’s life. I can only speak for myself when I say that I can’t think of a more perfect woman for me on this planet and that God delivered someone far beyond even my wildest aspirations – and I know that Carol feels the same. Right Carol? Carol? We are honored to see that nearly every friend that has been a part of this story, both BDC (Before David & Carol) and ADC, has chosen to join us for this very special day that has been nearly 7 years in the making. We know how busy you are, and we hope you know how important you are to us that we wanted to spend the most precious day of our lives in celebration with you, and to thank you for making your impact on who Carol and I have become individually, and as a couple. We cannot wait to celebrate with you, to share the many experiences we have in store for you, and to sanctify this union in traditional David & Carol style.
