When visiting Park City, it's good to be mindful of the altitude, especially if you're coming from a much lower elevation. Park City is located at around 7,000 feet above sea level (Deer Valley is at 8,000 feet), and while most visitors typically have no issues, there is a small chance that you might experience mild altitude-related symptoms. Here are a few considerations to help you prepare: 1. Acclimate Slowly: If possible, spend a day or two at a mid-level elevation before heading to Park City. 2. Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water to help your body adjust. 3. Alcohol and Caffeine: Both can dehydrate you and exacerbate symptoms, so be sure not to overdo it! 4. Eat Light Meals: Avoid heavy meals which can add to discomfort. 5. Take it Easy: Avoid strenuous activities for the first 24-48 hours.
In mid-October, Park City typically experiences cool and crisp autumn weather with beautiful fall foliage. Daytime temperatures usually range from 55°F to 65°F, while nighttime lows can drop to much lower. Be sure to pack layers, including a warm jacket / wrap, particularly for the outdoor ceremony!
The wedding, reception, and after-party will all take place at the St. Regis in Deer Valley. Fortunately, Uber, Lyft, and other ride-sharing services are typically readily available and can easily take you to Deer Valley. Alternatively, you can take a free bus from various points in Park City all the way to Deer Valley for the wedding. For more information, you can check out the transit bus schedule on ParkCity.org. Upon arrival, you can valet park and take the St. Regis Funicular to the top of the hotel, where the wedding will be held. Please note that the St. Regis Funicular functions like a luxury elevator on rails and will take you up to the hotel upon arrival. However, it may require a short wait as it shuttles guests up and down. We recommend arriving at least 20 minutes before the ceremony's start time to avoid any delays.
