Caro and Celso first met at Florida International University. Caro was starting the first year of her B.F.A. degree in theatre and Celso was the Technical Director of the Theatre Department. Ever wonder where Caro's first interest came in set design? Celso was overseeing the tech labs and from first glance they were smitten! It wasn't until the following semester, many months of conversation, developing a friendship and courting that the two had their first kiss, March 7th, 2007, "The most magical first kiss one could dream of" as told by Caro. Too young to understand the magnitude of their love, they remained "best friends". Fate had a different idea however, for their souls were written in the stars. The inevitable happened and they got their second chance...

Celso organized an intimate proposal with Caro's immediate family and friends that were in town. What originally was supposed to be a morning proposal at 11am was soon changed to 2pm. Caro was scheduled last minute for a work fitting at noon on that very Sunday. Of all days of the week, it had landed on the same day Celso had planned his proposal. So instead, he asked everyone to come later. The proposal was to happen on Espanola Way, where the two shared an affinity for "A La Folie" , a french cafe at the end of the strip. The waiting crowd was entertained by margaritas and tacos—a few doors down at The Clayton Hotel. At 4:30pm( 5 hours later), Caro was finally dismissed from her fitting and Celso, waiting by his last thread, was more than ready to get the show on the road. While the couple was making their way by foot to Espanola Way, Celso was updating everyone with instructions to tuck themselves away and stand by. As they reached “the spot”, Celso stopped in front of Caro, began his heart felt words and proceeded to get down on one knee. Still, Caro had no idea that all her family and friends were right behind her waiting to cheer, but not before the "YES" moment! Words continued and the ring was brought out and placed on her hand. They kissed, embraced, and the roar of cheers followed. It was their perfect proposal...
