The attire is dressy- casual. Gents, please wear button-ups. Ladies, be advised there is grass and we do not want anyone to sink or fall due to their shoes.
The typical weather for March in Simi Valley could reach the upper 70's during the day, and low 40's in the evening. The wedding will be held entirely outdoors so please bring a jacket or a blanket as it will get cool once the sun sets. Or you could just wear a liquid jacket!
Kind reminder to factor in the time it will take to park. The ceremony will start promptly at 5:00 PM and end around 5:30 PM. The reception will follow immediately after. Carlyn is a very prompt person and is usually not late, so if the couple is ever late it is likely Russell's fault. :)
Even though there is plenty of street parking, as it is a neighborhood, carpooling is recommended. The driveway will be reserved for vendors and immediate family of Carlyn and Russell. If you arrive later, you will lose a few calories walking to the house. Our older guests may be dropped off in front of the residence, but the car must be moved after. Please be respectful of the neighbors and do not block any driveways.
While we love children, we respectfully ask that you leave any children under the age of 17 at home. There is an un-gated pool at the reception and for safety reasons, it would be best to make prior arrangements for them. But hey, date night for mom and dad!
The reception will be held in the backyard of a private residence. Appetizers will be available around 5:30 PM directly after the ceremony, while the wedding party takes pictures. You will find an open bar as well as a non-alcoholic drinks. Buffet dinner will begin around 7:00 PM with a program during. Afterwards, time to dance and have fun!
We have a strict guest-list due to the venue and intimacy we want to create. We ask that only people on the invitation attend.
Your presence is more than enough. But if you would like to donate to our house fund, a monetary donation will be greatly appreciated at the event. If you would like to write a check please make it out to Russell Valencia.
Since the event is entirely outdoors, masks are not mandatory. We cannot wait to celebrate in person with you!
