Tortugranja (turtle farm) is a government-sponsored hatchery for endangered sea turtles. The turtles come to Isla Mujeres beaches in the summer late at night and into the early hours of the morning to lay their eggs. A sea turtle is capable of laying more than 100 eggs at a time. The entrance fee is $3 USD and offers the ability to see how man protects nature, you can also feed the turtles
Voted one of the Top Ten Beaches In The World- you cannot come to Isla and NOT spend a day on Playa Norte. The sand is powder fine, and the waters are crystal clear and calm. You can rent a bed from one of the many beach clubs, or throw down a towel and relax under a palm tree for free. Either way- this is the best spot to spend your days.
Hidalgo is the pedestrian only street in the middle of Centro (downtown). This street is packed with local shops, restaurants, bars and cafes. This is the perfect spot to grab dinner, coffee, an ice cold beer- or a souvenir to take home!
Punta Sur is the most southern tip of the island, it is also the very first part of Mexico that the sun touches when it rises each day. This is a gorgeous spot to check out- bring a camera & a few dollars/pesos to enter the park. Bring bananas too if you want to feed the iguanas!

Zama is one of the best beach clubs on Isla. There is no admission fee into the beach club- they just require you to order some food and/or drinks, then you can use their facilities for free. They have two large cascading pools and a small dipping pool, beach beds & loungers. They have an excellent menu and great cocktails! Be sure to bring your own towels and sunblock. You can also bring snorkel gear if you want to jump off of the dock and swim with the fish!
