FAQs

Question

How do I RSVP?

Answer

RSVPs are necessary to ensure we have a proper accounting of attendees for both the ceremony and the reception. The reception is specifically limited to 150 attendees, due to venue capacity. Please RSVP online at our Zola website by 30 June 2024 at the latest to ensure you are accounted for.

Question

Are children welcome?

Answer

Children are not disinvited from the reception; however, prearranged child care is preferred, as The Tower Club will not have a children’s menu, child care available, nor child-centered activities. For child care suggestions, reach out to Sean! Children are welcome to the ceremony at NYAPC.

Question

Do you have reserved hotel blocks?

Answer

We do not have reserved hotel blocks. Near New York Avenue Presbyterian Church (ceremony), there’s Sofitel, Hilton Garden Inn (14th St NW), Grand Hyatt Washington, Hamilton, Hotel DC, Washington Marriott at Metro Center, Ritz Carlton near Foggy Bottom, and Ritz Carlton Georgetown. Near The Tower Club (reception), there is Marriott Tysons Corner (closest) and the Ritz Carlton at Tysons Galleria.

Question

What are the closest airports and train stations?

Answer

If you are flying in from out of town, we recommend flying into Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA), which is about 10-min drive from the heart of DC. Washington Dulles (IAD) and Baltimore (BWI) are approximately 45-min drives from DC. Amtrak arrives at Union Station. Metro (WMATA) train and bus routes are available throughout the metro area. You can download the SmarTrip app to your phone to start a transportation balance. A Metro guide is available here: https://www.wmata.com/rider-guide/new-riders/upload/Your-Guide-to-Metro-for-web-2.pdf. The McPherson Square train station is closest to the ceremony venue, NYAPC. The Tysons Corner Center / Tysons One Place station is closest to the reception venue, The Tower Club.

Question

How far is the ceremony from the reception?

Answer

The ceremony will be held at New York Avenue Presbyterian Church, 1313 New York Ave. NW, Washington, DC 20005. Parking is extremely limited, due to location in downtown DC. The reception will be held at The Tower Club, 8000 Towers Crescent Drive Suite 1700, Tysons Corner, VA 22182. Parking is available on site in the parking garage. The venues are approximately 13 miles apart (about 25 min if driving, about 55 min if taking the Metro). If driving, we recommend using I-66 as opposed to George Washington Parkway. You may also take the Silver Line on the Metro toward Ashburn, leaving from McPherson Square and arriving at Tysons Corner Center/Tysons One Place.

Question

Where are you registered?

Answer

We have chosen not to register with outside entities. No gifts are required. Instead, contributions to our honeymoon fund are appreciated!

Question

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Both the ceremony and the reception will be indoors.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Our wedding colors are malachite green, honey gold, ivory, and black. The dress code for both the ceremony and the reception is black tie with formal gowns, cocktail dresses, and tuxes with black, dark green, gold, or ivory ties or bow ties are highly encouraged.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

The ceremony will begin at 2:00 p.m. Please arrive by 1:30. The reception cocktail hour will begin at 5:00 p.m. Arrival of the wedding party is expected by 5:30.

Question

Is there a time gap between the ceremony and the reception?

Answer

The ceremony is expected to finish at approximately 3:30 p.m. and the reception cocktail hour to begin at 5:00. As a result, guests will have approximately 1.5 hours to transit from the ceremony to the reception.

Question

Will there be other events to attend on the wedding weekend?

Answer

Welcome to the nation’s capital! We hope you’ll take advantage of the opportunity to visit a museum, monument, or two; enjoy a walk along the National Mall or embassy row; or catch a bite or take a shot at one of the LGBTQ+ restaurants and bars throughout the city.
