Good ole instagram... Carlos' roommate was friends with a friend in my bible study. That friend shared a photo of the girls in our bible study on instagram. After Carlos saw the picture of us he messaged my friend and said "Who's that on the right 👀." When she received his poetic message she quickly told me along with everyone else in the group. After hearing that Carlos loved Jesus and seeing that he had nice hair I decided to give him a shot. A week later he picked me up for our first date at Postino where we talked for hours, even after he paid the check. When he dropped me off I knew the rest would be history since he waited till I got inside to drive away.
The only tip I had that day was Carlos asking if I was planning to do my nails. I didn't think he had asked my dad and definitely didn't think he'd be able to do that without me knowing. We were in Tucson visiting family and made plans with Casey and Alek to go to a pumpkin patch (could it be???) until we realized we were too late to get tickets (no way, he as no plan...). We wound up at Tohono Chul park and walked around for a while until Carlos suggested we take a picture. We found a nice spot and took a few pictures but then Carlos got down on one knee (tying his shoe I'm sure😏) and popped the question! I of course said yes and am SO EXCITED to marry my best friend!!! We grabbed a quick bite to celebrate with Casey and Alek and headed to my parents house to share the news. Carlos had another surprise planned when we got home - an engagement party with all my family, including my sister who had flown in from Texas! Best night EVER💕
