We met both working at a software company in November 2015. Ray was transferred from Toronto to Vancouver and I had just moved to Vancouver from Victoria. We were on different teams, but it was a small office and we hung out often at work events. During Ray's first few days in the Van office, I asked if anyone wanted to grab a drink with some friends after work and Ray was the first and only who wanted to join. Turns out my friends were about 45 minutes late and I thought at that point he must think I'm tricking him into a date... Almost a year went by where we were good friends and Ray would continually try to ask me on dates and I would say I was busy. After many no's, I finally said yes and here we are!

Ray booked a photoshoot as a gift while on our trip to Paris as we'd never had professional photos taken. At the very last minute, the photographer changed the time and location of the shoot because the Paris marathon was going on and we had to quickly change all our plans for our first full day of the trip. I thought, there's no way he'd ask infront of the Eiffel tower, there's too many people there. We showed up at a park across from the Eiffel tower in the morning to music blasting from the speakers and marathon runners in the distance. The photographer got right to it and told me she was going to take some "test photos" of just me looking up at the tower. When I turned back around to see Ray on one knee I went into complete shock. I barely remember anything he said, but it was the best day ever.
