We had planned a lovely long weekend here in Denver for friends and family - its taken us awhile to decide what to do instead. While unfortunately, we have decided to cancel the wedding, we will still get married on 08.08.20 in a private ceremony. We look forward to seeing you all virtually! Did you know that Carl and Marissa actually went to High School together?! He sat in front of her in Chemistry class (how fitting) and they became fast friends. Fast forward a year or two and Marissa somehow convinced Carl to go to the same college as her! There they lived a floor apart, eventually moving in together with their other roommate Mike B. They lived there for years together until they finally all parted ways on different life adventures. Funny enough, Carl and Marissa had a pact (of course) to marry each other at 35 if they weren't married by then! Luckily, they decided to stick to that plan - but by choice and not because "they said they would." They lived in CT, moved to Cambridge, then moved ALL the way to Denver together to start a pretty exciting life. Things were off to a great start, and then well, a global pandemic hit! They are muscling through this difficult time, wedding plans begone, but marriage plans in full view. Even though its not panning out as they had hoped, they know the future is bright.

We were planning on having a ceremony and reception at one of our favorite coffee and cocktail shops in town. We are bummed that can't happen, but we know that risking people's health to have an in-person wedding just isn't the right thing to do! We will keep Black Eye Coffee, where we were going to celebrate, on the list for when we can have guests in Denver again one day! Instead we're doing something a little different. Please join us virtually to share our wedding day with us. We wish we could all be together, but we know we'll celebrate together eventually! When you RSVP - you'll see all the ZOOM details. Two special people will make speeches on our behalf, our dear friend will host the ceremony, Carl and Marissa will exchange vows and we will say a few words to our ZOOM guests before we say goodnight.
