The year was 2013. Beyonce caused a power outage at the Super Bowl where the Ravens won. Duchess Kate Middleton had just given birth to Prince George. The word "selfie" had just been added to the dictionary. And Justin Bieber was still in his "bad boy" phase. And Steven and Caralyn would officially lock eyes for the very first time, not knowing the fate in store for them, nine years later. They were both invited to the same Happy Hour one night after work at the bar, Libation, by their dear friend Dhanesh Shelat. Steven was taken at the time, but Caralyn was officially on the prowl for a nice, handsome Catholic boy she could fall in love with. Steven, known for his "Chest Chillage" when out on the town, of course had his shirt buttoned down, a little more than is suitable for work, not only giving a peek at his pecks, but also at his Crucifix necklace, and leather Catholic Scapular necklace. Caralyn, having just learned the significance of a Scapular necklace on a Catholic podcast she had listened to earlier that day, was all aflutter that there was this tall, handsome, Catholic mystery man in her vicinity. So she did what any gal would do, and marched right over and gave him her best one liner. She touched his necklace, batted her eyelashes, looked up at him and said, "I like your Scapular." Little did she know he was currently spoken for, but none the less, she called her mother that night and opened the phone call with, "Mom! I met the *cutest* Catholic boy tonight!" And that, ladies and gentleman, was the beginning of a beautiful....friendship. For 9 years... Until....2019, that all changed, when they both were finally on the market at the same time. And they fell in love on the dance floor. Steven, a former break dancer - Breaka 7 - has got the MOVES LIKE JAGGER and quite literally swept Caralyn off her feet on the dance floor. The sparks were flying as they danced the nights away at Yuca Bar, where their beloved DJ PJ would play only the best Latin Reggaeton: Bad Bunny and J Balvin. Fast-forward to today, and their dance floor love has only grown stronger, deeper and more beautiful. They have walked some very trying roads together during the 2 1/2 years they've been together, and have learned that their love and devotion is not just a surface level infatuation, but rather a soul-level commitment to one another that they are thrilled to be officially making before God and their family and friends in June. He was the answer to her prayers. And she was the one he wanted for life.
