All because Coffee Met Bagel

No, not real bagels, but George and Taylor did meet on a dating app called “Coffee Meets Bagel.” They connected on June 20, 2017, and talked for some time until the conversation closed out. George was on a camping trip with friends, lost service and did not message Taylor on the app for several days. George ended up saving his “coffee beans,” to reopen the conversation and (finally) ask for Taylor’s number. Funny story, Taylor used her “coffee beans,” to see who their mutual Facebook friend was, which was a close friend! Their first date was on July 21, 2017, where George took Taylor to dinner at Smuggler Jacks, and claims she ordered the most expensive item on the menu. This was followed by a walk on the Jones Beach Boardwalk, and finally listening outside to the Chris Stapleton concert . After the first date, they saw each other frequently, and finally made it official on August 26, 2017.

The fall is Taylor’s favorite time of the year, but a busy time of year between birthdays, Halloween, and school work. On October 27, 2017, George took Taylor on a spontaneous picnic at Belmont Lake State Park in Babylon. He had a blanket, food, drinks, and it was perfect. After the picnic, they took a walk around the beautiful lake, admiring the Fall Foliage and creating a beautiful memory to always reflect on, and they always refer it as “our lake.” Flash forward to October 20, 2019, George asked Taylor if she wanted to go for a walk at “the lake.” She was so excited to go outside and see the fall foliage since it was the only place on Long Island that felt like Fall. George suggested to invite their close friends, Mike and Angelica for the fun trip., all before the 1:00 Sunday football games. They all got to the lake and started walking, hoping to get a good walk in to beat the rain. They were all sharing laughs and stories, and they came up to the pretty destination, with the beautiful view. George wrapped his arm around Taylor, and said something about making October all about them, and got down on one knee. Taylor, speechless (George enjoyed the silence) and full of tears, she said YES!

We will never forget the dates that made us the couple we are. Our first date was 7.21.17. We will become husband and wife on 7.17.21. It just feels as if it was written in the stars.
