Although both of us were born at Fairview Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio, we didn't meet until college at the University of Michigan, where we connected through policy debate. We started dating in the spring of 2013. After graduating, we both moved to new cities for exciting job opportunities, taking our relationship long distance. After a year of the Palo Alto, CA to Amsterdam, NL time difference, we both relocated to New York City, where we've lived and loved each other (and the city) ever since.

On Valentine's Day, 2019, Cameron came home to our apartment (the place we've lived for three years and perhaps our favorite place in all of New York City) to find it decked out in flowers and candles, with the soundtrack to one of her favorite movies (Sleepless in Seattle) playing. At first she thought Cam was just really going above and beyond with Valentine's Day, but when she saw him standing nervously in the middle of the room, she realized something more exciting was about to happen. When he asked, she of course said YES.
