Question

When/Where is Check-In and Check-Out?

Answer

Camp Check-in with camp staff is 12:00PM - 6:00PM on Friday, June 14th. If you arrive any time after that window, it will be self check-in and all the information you'll need will be at the check in area. Camp Check-out is at 11:00am on Sunday, June 16th. See camp map for check-in location: https://forestlakecamp.com/facility-photos/

Question

What's the deal with the cabins?!

Answer

There are 19 "camper" cabins with bunkbeds and/or single beds that can sleep anywhere from eight to fourteen guests. All of the cabins have shared bathrooms and showers. We will be taking care of bunk assignments to keep groups together (we will prioritize the bottom bunks and use top bunks only if necessary) and make your bunk experience fun and comfortable! If this is a concern of yours, please email tkmcramos@gmail.com For photos: https://forestlakecamp.com/facility-photos/

Question

What if I'm not built for #cabinlife?

Answer

We get it. While we would truly love for everyone to spend the weekend with us at Camp McRamos, we know it may not be for some families or city rats. If you stay off site, you are still more than welcome to join us for all meals and camp activities at no additional cost. Please indicate in your RSVP exactly which meals you plan to join us for. Be aware that we will not be providing transportation to off-site locations, so you should arrange transportation ahead of time. Lyft and uber are sparse in the area, especially late at night. We would recommend assigning a designated driver if you plan to party with us and return to your off-site accomodations in the wee hours of the night.

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

Average temperatures in the Adirondacks during this time of year have a broad range from 50 degrees to 70 degrees. Expect the days to be warm and nights to be chilly. Continue to check the weather and forecast as we get closer for more accurate updates. Please bring some warm layers and a rain coat, we don't want any unexpected weather to stop us from enjoying what the camp has to offer! There will still be outdoor covered activities, even in the rain.

Question

What about food for the weekend?

Answer

All meals will be provided for the duration of your stay at Camp McRamos starting with the BBQ on Friday night. Whether or not you stay at camp, you're welcome to join us for all 4 meals provided. *On your RSVP, you MUST respond YES to each of the camp meals you would like to be included in.*

Question

What about childcare?

Answer

There are a few camp staff on site that provide babysitting services at their own rates. If interested in getting in touch with a sitter, please email us at tkmcramos@gmail.com and we can help coordinate. If you were hoping to bring your own childcare and want to stay in the cabins for the weekend, please email us so we can figure out what works best for everyone.

Question

Where do I park?

Answer

There will be a parking attendant during check in. Parking lots are located behind the Mess Hall and to the right of the Infirmary. Should the parking lots fill up, you can park on the side of Forest Lake Road leading to the main camp area. Please don't park on the grass.

Question

What about alcohol for the weekend?

Answer

We will be providing alcohol for night time events. If you're a day drinker, feel free to bring a cooler with your favorite 6 pack!
