In Fall of 2014, Tori began college at Texas Tech University and had joined the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. In it, Tori had met a girl from Dallas who was not only Jewish like Tori, but had some friends from Dallas who were as well that went to Texas Tech. They began a small group chat shortly after meeting, and in December of 2015, Tori invited the group to her little apartment for Hanukkah dinner. In the fall of 2014, Cameron began his college experience at Florida Atlantic University but had transferred to Texas Tech in the fall 2015 semester. Cameron, also Jewish, happened to be from Dallas and knew a few of the people that made up the group chat and was invited to go to Tori’s to celebrate Hanukkah. At the small Hanukkah party, there were 8 total people. Tori had made her favorite dinner for everyone, spaghetti of course! The night was full of laughter and great conversation. The boys were the first to leave and Tori would later find out that once out the door, Cameron would turn to his friend and essentially “call dibs” on Tori, telling him, “I have to get to know this girl”. For the next 4 months, Cameron would intermittently text Tori or ask her out but Tori was not about it. She had even tried to hook her friend who had also been an attendee of the Hanukkah party, up with Cameron instead! He had been totally friend-zoned by Tori. April 2016 was sorority formal season. Cameron, Tori, and a few friends were having game night when formal was brought up. Cameron offered to take one of the two girls to formal but Tori responded that he should take Amanda to her formal. Long story short, Tori’s date didn’t work out and that’s when Amanda said “Tori, he is a really great guy, let him take you instead.” After some pushing from Amanda, Tori finally decided to give him a chance. Tori texted Cameron about formal and it was set. The next day, Tori and Cameron ran into each other at the campus food court. Cameron invited Tori to his fraternity’s basketball game later that day, and she said yes. At the game, both realized how comfortable and easy it was to talk to each other. After the game, they sat in his car in front of Tori’s apartment for 4 hours talking and laughing. Tori remembers thinking to herself “Crap. I think I really like this guy”. Tori had finally began to get out of the car when Cameron grabbed Tori by her arm, whispered “wait”, and kissed her for the first time- and they haven’t stopped kissing since! On April 21, 2023, the couple will be celebrating 7 years together. The two have had quite the adventure together in that span of that time: traveling to 7 states, 2 countries and have lived in 4 different cities. After what seemed like an eternity, on December 15th, 2021, Cameron proposed to Tori at Dallas Zoo Lights under an arch of hundreds of Christmas lights. Cameron and Tori love animals and always try to go to the zoo in any new city they visit. They went on to celebrate the night with some of their very best friends. They have two doggies that they love so so much, some may even call obsessed, named Oliver (7) and Sully (2) and unfortunately lost Caty (14) a few years ago. Cameron currently works at Charles Schwab in their wealth advisory group and Tori works at Baylor University Medical Center as an ER nurse. Cameron and Tori have a special kind of love. One that continues to grow and strengthen their relationship as well as each other individually. They are best friends, each others biggest cheerleaders. They are so excited for this adventure, what the future and the fact that they get to celebrate their love with all of their favorite people in one room!
