Cameron and I met under the usual circumstances at a New Year's Eve Party in Downtown Colorado Springs, ringing in 2020! Thanks to our friends Kyle and Jennifer, they had been tirelessly trying to set us up prior, but the timing was not aligned until this very moment. The party started around 9 pm, and Cameron finally built up the confidence to talk to me around 1147pm, just in time to ring in the New Year with a kiss! The next day, Cameron and I decided to get breakfast, and he asked me out on an official date to his favorite TexMex restaurant, Chuys. I fell in love with their Creamy Jalapeno Sauce almost as quickly as I fell in love with Cameron. As many of you know, we are both Active-Duty Military, and our work timelines never seemed to sync up. Cameron went away to Ranger School, and when he came back to Colorado, I was on my way to Fort Lee, VA, for Captain's Career Course. But Cameron and I knew that giving up on our relationship was not an option, no matter the distance. Cameron popped the question on 4.3.21 at the exact spot we watched our first Colorado Sunset together in Red Rocks Open Space, and consequently rolled my ankle trying to beat Cam in a race down to the bottom (that is neither here nor there). We officially moved in together at Fort Benning, GA, at the beginning of April, and we could not be happier! We are counting the days until our "Big Sky" Day and cannot wait to celebrate with our family and friends!
