We're Getting Married

In the fall of 2023, Calvin and Kylie were both attending BYU-I and living at the same apartment complex. Their roommates, Sean and Izzy, were dating, and were on a mission to set Calvin up on a blind date. After a little hangout after church, Kylie's roommate, Emma, asked Calvin a pretty serious question. "How tall are you?" Calvin shrugged and said he didn't know. He then left the apartment a few minutes later. Emma turned to Kylie and asked, "Would you ever go out with Calvin?" Kylie shrugged and said sure. Emma and Izzy ran out of the apartment to catch up with Calvin and suggested going out with Kylie. A few hours later Kylie got out of the shower and found a sticky note on her door. "Hey, we should go out sometime." Their first date was that Thursday, walking to dinner, then meeting up with Sean & Izzy to go axe throwing. The rest is history.

Early in the morning, the couple drove east towards Jackson Hole, Wyoming to enjoy the natural hot springs. There, they enjoyed the small town, ate some cowboy grub, and then headed home from the day trip. Calvin expressed that he wanted to go on a walk when they returned, something that they had done often in the BYU-I gardens. The couple would always take a route through the garden that would lead to this small cabin with a bench built inside. On the way, Kylie mentioned that, "If you were to propose to me, please give me a three day notice. I think that I would want to do my nails beforehand." To which Calvin lied, "Sure." They sat on that bench that grew to be a reminder on where their love had grew over the course of their relationship; From where they had their first date to so forth. After talking, Calvin took a little booklet out of his bag containing a poem inside, then got down on one knee and proposed.
