High School Sweethearts

First comes school, then comes marriage

Our story started my freshman year of high school in geometry class. At this point, we were just friends but deep down we both had feelings for each other. Our timing was never right. We would date other people and share with each other frustrations in our relationships. Austin would always have chewy jolly ranchers and would give me the blue ones even though those were his favorite, too. That was his way of flirting… and the only C I ever made in high school. Sorry Mr. Spillman. The summer of my junior year and Austin’s senior year is when we finally acted on how we both felt. A couple weeks before school started back, I received word from one of my friends that Austin was single. I knew I had those feelings for him, and so did they. So, I went against all of the rules and reached out to him first. Our best friends were going on a date and asked us to tag along. We sat around and talked until dark and then lit sparklers. Still to this day, Austin jokes about the sparklers and my excitement to see the spark. Little did we know the spark would last the rest of high school, through college and now to a marriage. After that night, we started spending more time together, and on August 22, 2014 we officially became a couple. Looking back on our relationship, we have seen each other through a lot of good and bad parts of life. We have grown up together and learned about love, death, commitment and perseverance. Without a doubt, we can both say that we are each other’s best friend and can’t imagine living this life without each other. When the COVID-19 outbreak started, we were so scared that we were going to have to post-pone our wedding. Thankfully, we can keep our date but sadly minimize our guest list. We are so excited that on our six year anniversary of dating, we will be tying the knot and keeping the same anniversary forever. This day means so much to the both of us, and we are so excited to share this special day with all of you! With love, Hannah
