The Castellanos Wedding

Jesus was a lifelong friend and brother-from-another-mother to Chris. Jesus also attended St. Francis College, where he met Heaven while she was working on her bachelor’s degree. After sitting next to each-other for an entire semester, Jesus and Heaven eventually became friends as well. Months later, when Heaven’s cousin, Ciara, moved in with Heaven, Jesus diligently agreed to assist her in putting together her bedframe. The only issue was... building things wasn’t Jesus’ strong suit. So, after a quick phone call (cry for help), Chris came over to assist in building Ciara’s bed. Chris remained so patient and kind despite being frustrated that he had to come all the way to Queens from Brooklyn to help build a bed after work. Alas, Heaven and her 3-year-old son, Xavier, walked by the bedroom and Jesus introduced Chris to Heaven. Chris and Heaven would see each other a few more times, but never exchanged more than simple conversation amongst large groups of friends. One evening when Jesus, Ciara, and Heaven (a little tipsy) were hanging out, Heaven expressed her discontent with single life over Jesus’ social media timeline story. In the morning after seeing the story, Chris sent Heaven a message and asked if he could take her to ice cream. One date turned into more and eventually Chris and Heaven found themselves seeing each other daily. They genuinely enjoyed each other’s companionship. The friendship would eventually blossom into a relationship. They would lean on one another for almost everything and eventually career opportunities in the Washington D.C. area allowed them to move out of New York City and in with one another. On 26 May 2021, Chris proposed to Heaven in the airport in front of friends and family.
