We're so excited to celebrate with you!

Jon and Callan met on TikTok. She was scrolling through videos and saw one of a cute guy, she liked the video and followed him. About 10 minutes later she had a message in her private messages saying "Hey". The two learned that they only lived 6 hours away from each other, which in TikTok world is not bad at all, and decided to exchange information outside of the app to continue talking. They haven't missed a day since! They have a snap streak to this day tracking how many days they have spoken non-stop since February 16th, 2020. They were fully expecting to be able to see each other very minimally until summer break but 2020 had other plans! After Jon came to visit Callan two times, she took her turn to visit him when her spring break plans fell through. When she got to Nebraska the world shut down and the two ended up being able to spend weeks at a time together quarantined and getting to know each other. With nowhere to go, nothing to do, and no one to hang out with, their love story moved very quickly but they have loved every second of it!

Jon and Callan had a lot of time in lockdown to get very close and have a lot of deep conversation, this allowed their relationship to get to a more serious place a lot faster. Their futures were aligned and they both wanted the same thing while also being wildly crazy about each other! Jon bought a ring in October of 2020 but didn't know how he wanted to propose. He asked for her parents blessing over Thanksgiving weekend and talked about ideas with Marcey. He decided that an intimate proposal would be best because that is what Callan wanted, he also decided to involve the "kids". (A.K.A. the pups!) He ordered jewels for their collars asking her if she wanted to be with him forever but thanks to USPS and covid, the package was lost in the mail. This postponed his original plan so he came up with a new plan. Jon began texting her friends asking her if they would all be around for New Years Eve so he could pop the question at midnight with Callan's closest friends around. Unfortunately, that plan started to fall through too with one friend getting quarantined, and two more traveling out of Sedalia! Thankfully the Brick's were staying in town and wanted to have a small group of people over to celebrate the new year. So the stage was set for New Years Eve. Callan kept trying to leave as the night went on though because she was tired! Hannah kept coming up with different games to play to keep her there and a little before midnight the group started sharing their resolutions for the new year. Callan went last and ended with only a second before midnight saying that she wanted to continue working to progress and grow in her relationship. Midnight struck and kisses were given. Jon then said, "well to help you accomplish one resolution..." and dropped to one knee. He asked Callan to marry him with a very easy, "yes!" from Callan and a kiss to seal the deal, they were officially engaged! Thanks a lot, Hannah and Meredith!
