My dad introduced us at my high school graduation party. Jared and him worked together climbing towers. They became pretty close after spending weeks at a time traveling over night. Fast forward to the party.... Jared introduced himself to me that night of the party...in his crocs. The rest of the night we played beer pong as a team and talked. The night ended with him asking me for my number.

Jared had been planning for over 2-3 months. His original date he wanted to propose was on my pinning day (May 7th) at our family dinner after the ceremony, however due to COVID-19, plans changed. We decided to move foward with the graduation party that my mom was hosting. On the day of the party, my sisters insisted that I dress in my best, including the fake lashes and heels. We had friends and family from all over come to party! About 2 hours into the party, my dad asked if he could talk to me about something. He didn't say what it was he needed to talk about, but I said that I needed to go to the bathroom. So my dad and my mom followed me inside the house. I was thinking that maybe they thought I needed assistance, but little did I know they were keeping me inside while Jared was setting up the proposal. When I walked outside, accompanied by both my parents, I first seen an empty barn, then a large crowd in the front yard, then a sign, "Jessica, will you make Jared our brother-in-law?" Each of my siblings had a sign, including his sister, and there were so many cameras. Jared stepped out from behind the house and all the signs flipped and read, "Jessica, will you marry me?" Jared is not the mushy type, but he said the kindest words, got down on his knee and asked me to marry him. Of course I said YES! Best. Day. Ever.
