FAQs

The Wedding Website of Kayla McCartney and Caleb Vega
We did our best to cover everything here, but if you have any other questions about our big day, don't hesitate to reach out to us.
Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Our dress code is casual. All this means is you can wear what is comfortable, but you should avoid wearing jeans, shorts, or tank tops. For example, khakis and a collared shirt or a sundress work perfectly! We also recommend keeping an eye on the weather and dressing accordingly. We will be outdoors for the entire evening. Don't worry though - there will be heaters at the reception. IMPORTANT: There is going to be gravel around the reception and ceremony areas. We wouldn't advise wearing heels.

Question

Can I bring my kids?

Answer

Though we love your little ones, we are asking that you leave the babies at home. We are making exceptions for a few kiddos. However, unless your invite is addressed to "The ____ Family", we ask that you do not bring your kids. Your invite will specify exactly who is invited by name otherwise. Additionally, when you RSVP on our website, you will see the names of who is invited in your family. We appreciate your understanding.

Question

Will there be a shuttle from the hotel?

Answer

Unfortunately, we will not be providing a shuttle from the hotel. There will be plenty of parking at the venue. Some of the cabins are even in walking distance! Make sure you have a plan for a DD if needed.

Question

Where should I park?

Answer

There are 50 parking spaces directly next to the venue off of Wayah Rd. From there, follow signs up to the ceremony area.

Question

Where should I plan to stay?

Answer

We recommend booking your stay either at one of the cabins or campgrounds near the venue or at the Quality Inn in Andrews, NC (20 min from the venue). You can find more details in the Travel section of our website or on our Venue's website: https://nantahalaweddings.com/lodging-lake-nantahala-wedding/. This Lodging Page on the venue website has a map of where the different cabins are. Please keep in mind that even if your cabin says "Walking Distance", we suggest driving. It will be a difficult walk in the dark and in wedding clothes. We want to encourage you to begin thinking about where you will stay about 6 months in advance. This is to ensure you find the best fit for you and your group while it is still available. IMPORTANT: There is very little wifi / cell service in the area, so be sure to screenshot directions and AirBnB info beforehand. Question

What time should I arrive at the wedding?

Answer

Our ceremony will begin at 4pm. We would love for you to arrive about 15 min early to ensure we are all settled to start in time.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

If you have a plus one, it will be addressed on your invitation. Also when you RSVP, you will see the space for a plus one below your name. We ask that if it is not specifically stated on your invite or on our website, that you do not bring anyone additional to our wedding. We are doing our best to keep an accurate guest count for our venue and caterers. Thanks in advance!

Question

What if I can't make it?

Answer

You will be missed, but we completely understand. If you could RSVP 'no', this will help us plan accordingly.

Question

Should I bring a gift?

Answer

We are welcoming cards at the wedding but no boxed gifts, please. On our registry page you will notice we are not registered for many things. We already have most of the things we need for our home, but we would greatly appreciate your help in funding our honeymoon.
