Andrew and I met our junior year at Kutztown University when he was quietly standing in the kitchen of the house I shared with my two roommates. When we had first met, I don't think there were more than five words exchanged and we parted ways with me thinking, "geez, why doesn't that kid like me?" The next night, I made it my personal mission to make him talk to me- he was cute, okay?! He took my invite and we sat out on the porch, just the two of us, chatting for hours about our lives, families, and everything else under the sun. From that night on, there was a spark that never went out.
I had a work trip that was taking me back out to Tucson for a few days and figured it was the perfect time to have Andrew join me back in our old desert paradise. He made it a big deal that we HAD to go to Mt. Lemmon while we were there. Me, not being much of a hiker, was reluctant to go, but knew it would make him happy to go up there, so up 10,000 feet we went. He kept telling me that "there's this place called Inspiration Rock- I want to take you there!" As we're driving up the winding road, he was all jittery (more than usual) and extremely chatty as he kept his eyes out for the sign. When we finally found it he took me to the edge to check out the view and as I was turned around trying to see what was below us, I had turned back around to Andrew and he was down on one knee and he asked me to be his wife at the edge of Inspiration Rock. It was one of the most magical moments we've had with one another, and something we'll never forget.
