Caitlyn and Alex first met in 2013 while working at Camp Wilton, a summer camp for adults with developmental disabilities. They both shared a passion for their work, and instantly became friends. Caitlyn even threw Alex a surprise "halfway to 50" birthday party with the help of Best Man, Justin Sheward only a few weeks after meeting him. It wasn't until the spring of 2016 that the two of them started dating.

Alex popped the big question at Atlas' first birthday party in August. Caitlyn opened Atlas' final gift of the party- a onesie that read "Keep Calm and Just Say Yes!" Alex was down on a knee as soon as the gift was opened!
